2010 natural disasters in Queensland, Victoria and then Western Australia have increased the need for insurance companies to process claims quickly and effectively. For one of the biggest general insurers, Suncorp, the increase in claims highlighted the need to keep clients better informed on the progress of their claims. For many victims of the storms and floods there was no internet connection let alone a computer, paperwork was all too often lost or destroyed and mail had major disruptions in some regions.
Suncorp & GIO Insurance were the first to use the system for claims processing when tens of thousands of claims from customers in disaster stricken regions of QLD, VIC & WA.
